Our Products

Cinnamon

The cinnamon tree is mainly sourced in the tropical areas of the world.

We are dealing with two main botanical families of cinnamon i.e. Cinnamomum Burmannii produced in Indonesia and the Cinnamomum Zeylanicum native from Sri Lanka. The Cinnamomum Zeylanicum variety is produced in very large quantity in Sri Lanka and in lower volumes in Madagascar and in Seychelles Islands.

The bark is removed from the cinnamon tree branches once cut off. Following the size of the bark, it will be sold either in small chips scrapped or unscrapped or rolled into quills.

Vanilla

It exists two main botanic families of Vanilla, The Vanilla Tahitensiscoming from the Pacific region (Tahiti, Papua-New Guinea) and Vanilla Planifoliacoming from Madagascar and Mexico.

The vanilla Gourmet Type will be sold as received on the food market while the extraction vanilla will be used to produce vanilla extracts and aromas.

Pepper

The pepper from its scientific namePepper Nigrumnative from India is today mainly produced in Vietnam and Indonesia which are the main exporters in the world.

However, it is also produced in Madagascar.

We find under this name several products such as the black pepper, the green pepper, and the dehydrated pink peppercorn and the wild pepper (voatsiperifery, Bourbon pepper)

SMI works mainly on the Black pepper, the green pepper in brine, the dehydrated pink peppercorn, and the wild pepper also called Bourbon pepper.

Cloves

From Its latin name Sizygium Aromaticum, the cloves have been used since a long time for its medicinal properties. It was considered as the queen spice. Originally from Indonesia which remains the leader in the production, it is also produced in Madagascar, Comoros Island, Sri Lanka and Brazil.
